Who we are
From humble beginnings in 1983 to a Bendigo industry leader, SESM has grown over its 20-year life from a one-man service to a business employing more than 20 staff, spread over four manufacturing plants.
Our plants manufacture a diverse range of products using both light and heavy sheet metal, with excellent precision engineering. We are the largest supplier of steel, Colorbond®, stainless steel sheet, plates, bars and fittings in the area.
This demand has allowed the business to expand into the service areas of stainless steel supply, commercial catering equipment fabrication and fitting, air conditioning industry supply, precision engineering, commercial vehicle bodybuilding and agricultural engineering to name a few.
The client list of big industry names such as ADI & Freight Australia is a testimony to the quality of work our company provides to our customers.
Our staff
SESM’s founder, Adrian, attributes the growth of the company to the staff’s willingness to meet customer demands. “We strive to exceed our customers’ expectations on every project, from the conception of the product to the delivery,” he said.
SESM also has a high employee retention rate. Adrian attributes this to the diversity of interesting work the business provides and the relative success of his award-winning apprentices. “It’s very satisfying to watch our apprentices grow into skilled people at the top of their industry.”
As for the future, Adrian says, “As our clientele base grows, the work is becoming increasingly challenging. It is an exciting business to be involved in.”
